WifOR is an independent economic research institute, founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Darmstadt. As experts in macroeconomic analysis, our research focuses on the areas of labor markets, health, and sustainability. Through our studies, WifOR’s mission is to enable data-based solutions to challenges on the labor market, set global standards in Impact Measurement, and illuminate the value of health investments worldwide. WifOR has over 75 employees located in Germany, Greece, Latin America, and the USA.
Your tasks
In this role you will:
- Support the development and maintenance of an online tool for impact valuation (WISIT)
- Act as a connector between backend developers and data providers
- Perform tests of the application in Python
- Do version control with bitbucket in Visual Studio Code
Your profile
- You are a student of computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics of quantitative economics (business informatics, economics or similar), or a related course of study.
- You have a strong affinity for data and enjoy familiarizing yourself quickly with new topics.
- You are characterized by independence, diligence, initiative and the ability to work in a team.
- You have programming skills in Python (Pandas, Numpy or similar).
- Ideally, you also have experience with
- statistical software such as R or STATA,
- GitHub, Bitbucket or similar
- json files
- Input-output analysis and macroeconomics
